You work and work to keep your skin fit every day and then you take one, four-day vacation in July and just like that you’ve given yourself a sun burn, a major break out, and chapped lips. Avoid undoing all the hard work you’ve accomplished to maintain healthy skin by taking your skin care regimen on the road.
1. Pack light. Count out your vitamin supplements and put them in a baggy. Not only will this take up less room in your bag, but you’ll be able to keep track of whether or not you’ve taken your vitamins.
2. If you don’t normally take vitamins C and E in supplement form, now would be a good time to start. Both vitamins are antioxidants and will serve you well in fighting off the environment’s skin damaging free radicals.
3. Don’t forget any products from your skin care regimen. It’s way too easy to forget a skin care product when packing. Most skin care lines provide travel packs that include all your products in smaller, two ounce bottles. Freeze 24 / 7 Jet Set Travel Kit is a Skin Fitness Facts favorite.
4. Consciously drink water. Take a minute before every meal to drink one full glass of water. This will help to keep you hydrated and to keep your skin fresh.
5. Sun block. Reapply every 3-4 hours regardless of whether you are spending a lot of time in the sun. SPF degrades after just a little bit of time, so reapplication is important in preventing burns.
6. Wear hats and big sun glasses to protect that delicate skin on your face.
7. Pack or buy aloe vera. Whether or not your skin feels burned or dry after a day in the water and sun, a layer of aloe vera beneath your moisturizer will help lock in the moisture your skin needs to stay fit.
Wherever your vacation takes you, don’t forget your skin care. Skin fitness doesn’t stop just so you can have a good time.

A reader recently wrote in asking why men never have cellulite on their legs. Here’s an excerpt:
“I’m plagued by cellulite, yet my husband has none. He says it’s because I don’t drink enough water and need to lose 20 pounds, but I’m not convinced. Why is it that we eat the same diet, follow the same exercise regimen (none), and I’m the one with dimply thighs? It’s hardly fair that men don’t get cellulite.”
–Sandy
Thanks for writing in Sandy, and you’re right, it’s not fair. Truth be told, men do get cellulite but it’s not as common as it is in women. Men mostly see cellulite on their stomachs while women have a lot of that dimply action on their behinds and thighs.
Your husband is right, you should be drinking 64 ounces of water every day for weight control and skin fitness, but he’s wrong about that being the reason for your cellulite. The water - cellulite myth is just that, a myth.
If you lost the extra 20 pounds of weight the amount of cellulite would most likely decrease, but the reality is that even skinny people have cellulite. It’s more a matter of genetics than it is anything else.
Cellulite appears through our skin because the fat stored closest to our skin is stored between fibers that connect to deeper layers of tissue. These pockets of space create the dimpling affect. For those with thicker skin, the fat is harder to see.
There are a number of products you can use that will reduce the appearance of your cellulite. Skin Fitness Facts recommends Rodial Body Sculpture.
