Studies have proven that pollution may contribute to the appearance of wrinkles on our skin. Exhaust from cars, smoke, industrial pollution, and random chemicals dump all kinds of free radicals into the environment that we breath and that rest on our skin.

Free radicals accelerate aging by breaking down collagen in the skin. Without enough collagen skin will sag, wrinkles will form, and discoloration will occur.
To counteract the effect of free radicals, eat foods high in antioxidants (vitamins C and E) and use skin care products that contain antioxidants like MD Formulations Moisture Defense Antioxidant Lotion.
Download the Skin Fitness Facts healthy skin grocery list for an example of foods that are great in preventing wrinkles.

Did you know that the more deep sleep you get each night, the longer you’ll keep your youthful looks?
This is because when you are in REM sleep your body produces human growth hormone, which aids in cell growth.
Human growth hormone does a number of great things for the body including weight management and maintaining strong bones. So with a good night’s sleep every night, not only will you have a slimmer waistline, but you’ll also have fitter skin.
Maybe that’s why they call it beauty sleep?

Skin experts agree that one of the best ways to treat melasma and other skin hyperpigmentation is by eating foods rich in vitamin C, taking a vitamin C supplement, and using vitamin C skin care products. Although oranges won’t rid your skin of melasma altogether, it will improve your skin’s fitness.
So why all this vitamin C for your melasma?
Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant, which fights off free radicals in the environment and keeps your skin’s collagen in tact. Healthy collagen prevents wrinkling and discoloration.
It’s not always about prevention, though. Vitamin C also helps fade existing dark spots. This is because vitamin C or L-ascorbic Acid stays in the skin for up to 72 hours and works to boost collagen production.
There are a number of skin care products that include vitamin C, but our favorite is
DDF Retinol Energizing Moisturizer.
