September 4th, 2008

For those plagued with persistent dry skin, essential fatty acids are sometimes the magic weapon. Omega 3 and Omega 6 are both essential fatty acids and are important for you skin fitness because they control oil production in the skin. Too much oil or too little oil can offset your skin’s balance creating never ending dry patches, flaky skin, and even black heads.

An Omega 3/6 supplement is easy to find at the drug store, and is usually in the form of fish oil. Keep in mind that you probably have enough Omega 6 as it is. Its Omega 3 that most of us lack in our diets. In addition to the supplements eat cold-water fish and flaxseed too for optimal skin fitness.

There are also a number of topical products containing essential fatty acids. Here are two of Skin Fitness Fact’s favorites.
