Grapefuit seed extract for melasma
July 25th, 2008

I read a fascinating forum post at Melacor.net today about grapefruit seed extract for treating melasma. A visitor commented that melasma is a result of fungal imbalances in our internal chemistry and that the grapefruit seed extract will help to balance it.
First item on my grocery list: grapefruit seed extract. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

I’d love to hear how the GSE worked for your melasma. Thinking about trying it. Thanks for replying or posting!

Kris – Thanks for your comment. Believe it or not, I’ve been traveling overseas since writing this post and have looked and looked for GSE every chance I’ve had, but haven’t found it. When I know more, I’ll post. However, I have been taking a pomegranate extract, which I think is working well. My melasma hasn’t gone away, but it definitely didn’t get worse after spending weeks in the sunshine.

Please don’t believe the stuff about melasma being caused by “fungal imbalances”. This is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the web. No proof of a ‘fungal’ cause of melasma exists.
