New Skin Lightening Technology in the Works

Washington company, MediQuest Therapeutics, recently won a patent to develop a technology that will regulate melanin production in the skin. Excess amounts of melanin can cause melasma, age spots, freckles, and other skin hyper-pigmentation.
Mediquest is a pharmaceutical company focusing on topical therapies for those suffering from inflammatory and infectious diseases, for example Raynaud’s Disease and toenail fungus. What makes this pharmaceutical company different is that the drugs made are not ingested, rather the treatments are given topically through the diseased areas of the skin and nails.
No word yet on when the melanin treatment will be available.
