Thursday skin facts — If I had no skin how much would I weigh
December 4th, 2008

Sorry, I know the thought of having no skin is sort of disgusting, but I just had to know the skin facts. How much of our body weight is the result of our skin’s weight?
The truth is that our skin makes up15% of our body weight. So if you weigh 150 pounds, then your skin weighs 22.5 pounds.
Like the rest of our body, skin is made up of mostly water (about 70%) and proteins (about 28%). The rest are trace minerals and other chemicals.
Now that you know 15% of you is skin, don’t you want to take better care to keep up your skin fitness?
