Skin fitness prevention for cold sores

Cold sores are a result of the herpes simplex virus. The virus lies dormant until times of stress, hormone surge, or you experience certain triggers like extreme cold temperatures, chemical peels or a diet containing coffee, chocolate, and eggs.
There is no cure for the cold sore, but there are a number of nutritional supplements that will prevent a cold sore and increase its healing time.
For starters, Lysine is an amino acid known for promoting healthy skin and tissue in your mouth and on your lips. I have taken Lysine every day for years and can say with certainty that it prevents cold sores effectively. If I miss more than one day, then a cold sore is almost inevitable.
Secondly, zinc and B12 will support a healthy immune system. Often times a cold sore will come on when you are suffering from another virus, like the cold for example. Keep your immune system strong and you will avoid a cold sore outbreak.
Of course there are doctor prescribed and over the counter creams that will relieve pain and promote healing like Neosporin Lip Treatment, but a healthy skin fitness diet of lysine, zinc, and B12 is the best place to start when preventing and treating those pesky sores.
