The long forgotten wash cloth
January 1st, 2009
With all the exfoliating scrubs, sponges, and loofahs out there it seems as though I have completely forgotten about the classic wash cloth. As a child it’s all we used. Well, that and a bar of soap.
Way back then it seemed to do the job just fine so why have I strayed so far away from the washcloth?
After realizing that I might have been neglecting a very inexpensive, very effective beauty tool I decided to dig a couple out of my closet and give it a shot.
What I found is that the washcloth cleans and smooths my elbows and knees better than anything else I have (I know because I tested only one elbow and only one knee).
The only downside to the washcloth is the fact that the soap doesn’t lather as nicely as it does with a mesh puff. Otherwise, I’ve been sold and have decided to revert back to my childish ways.
So to all you beauty buffs looking for the next new rage in health and beauty, go retro and use a washcloth.

There is something so comforting about a washcloth – I didn’t know what it was until I read this – and now I know it is a memory of times past. I LOVE using a wash cloth here and there. What a perfect post!

Thanks for reading Rebecca. I’m happy with my collection of washcloths at the moment too.
